I didn’t think that we’d be able to see the eclipse in Quesnel today due to the smoke that has been hanging around here the past few weeks.

Luckily there was a smattering of rain over the past few days, including last nigth, which cleared the air of a lot of the smoke that has been hanging around. However, it was fairly overcast this morning so I expected to be unable to see the eclipse altogether.

Instead, since the eclipse from Quesnel was only 58% coverage at the peak. So it was actually quite bright still if you had clear skies this far north. For me though, the clouds dimmed the bright sun and allowed me to see the disk of the moon as it passod over half of the sun. It was occasionally too bright still but my camera could see it a little better.
