Waiting is the Hardest Part About Amazon
I have finally gone and done it. I have made my firt purchase into the realm of quadcopters and multirotor remote control.
Honestly, I took the easy way out for now. I have purchased - and am eagerly awaiting - a DJI Mavic Pro quadcopter. At it’s price point it seems to be a great way to get into high quality aerial photography.
Eventually I would like to build my own "race" capable FPV quad and start doing some of the crazy acrobatics that you can find on the internet. Look up "Sharpu" (an amazing race-quad pilot) if you need to be wowed.
My reason for purchasing the Mavic over building a quad as my first airframe was that the Mavic is a well developed system that includes everything I really wanted to start playing with. In contrast, building a quad would mean that I need to choose battery chargers and batteries and FPV equipment all in one go and the end result would likely cost more than the Mavic (and more than I want to pay right now) in order to get going.
So I’ve watched a ton of online videos and I’m confident about the purchase, but now I have to wait until next week for the thing to be delivered. That’s the worst part about not having Amazon Prime, waiting for your order to be delivered!
